Update: Thanks for the DD! <3 I love you all! <3

Update 2: Fixed some major issues concerning noise/grain! It is now the way it's supposed to be! :)

A friend of mine came over to visit, she brought some firetoys, when it had gotten dark outside we went out and played, here is one photo in particular that I liked.

More shots from the set

Model: Jorun Borggren
Photo: Me
Post-processing: Grain-issues

And oh.. this should not be attempted by yourself unless you know what you are doing. :) If you do, then do it! : D

WAH!! The critique is on fiya!! :dummy:
I am honestly amazed by the affects of the photo. The dynamic ebb and flow of the flames makes for powerful vigor and intrigue as it mixes with the black background!
Though the main character is slightly off with the ear muffs, the rest is not ignorable, and to do so is to deprive oneself of a feast for the eyes...one that burns and makes you well done!! :evillaugh:

In conclusion: Amazing motion makes for a need in sun tan loation!...sorry. A well made piece that shows action, color and innovative photo concept. KEEP IT UP!! :#1:

You're like the third one that thinks of Avatar the airbender. Tell me why? I haven't seen the movie or the series, so for me this is just my friend playing with firetoys. :P

um because that's basically what a firebender does kid. They move fire around like that...right before they burn your fucking face lol >>

In that series it might be like that yes, but fire-art has been around far longer than Avatar.
And that is why I find it funny that there are so many who only thinks of Avatar when they see this. :)
Also, I'm no kid.

well duh, but avatar takes it from art to artistic combat.

Fire's been used in artistic combat in many ways, not only in avatar. :P
Still funny that so many thinks of just Avatar. :P

well avatar is also what has been popular so it's natural to associate it with avatar as it's more relatable these days.

It's getting popular you say? When did it start airing? I don't see it on the swedish airings yet.
Here it's mostly talk about The Expendables, Predators, Karate Kid, Inception, Iron Man 2, and unfortunately Eclipse.
And much talk about Scott Pilgrim vs. The World that I really hope gets aired here soon! I so want to see it! :O

Oh, fire toys, gotta love 'em^^
I actually recently got into Poi, and I am hoping (eventually), to get to the level of Fire Poi, and this is lovely to see (I can't get enough of moving light and fire in photos, just beautiful) and is just giving me ideas upon ideas... downside, can't be behind camera and be playing with fire (or much anything) to get a photo.
Ah well, I\ll have to train a friend to shoot well, ha ha.
Tangent, sorry^^ But hey, it obviously provokes inspiration in others (I).
Great shot, the lines are smooth (I hate blurry motion lines out of the right context), and the outline of the person works well (sometimes it's just black and the lights are 'floating' without purpose.
In short, Love it^^

Poi is awesome, I got a pair myself, but so far my level has only reached my nuts and backhead... not really what I strive for. x) so no firepoi for me as of now, I shoot my friends instead when they do it! ^^

It's great to know that I've been an inspiration, that warms me! :D so thank you very much! and I wish you luck in your mission! :D

A tips is to find a model who knows how to poi, because playing with fire when unexperienced IS dangerous for real, even lifethreatning.
We had buckets of water and fire-blankets and other stuff that was near my camera IN CASE she'd catch on fire. So don't use models who doesn't know how to poi.

Another reason to not use unexperienced ones is that poi is really hard to make look good if unexperienced, I know that since I have a pair of poi at home, and sofar the only thing I've managed to do is hit my own backhead or my nuts! :>

But I hope you find your models, because it can lead to really spectacular shots! Så good luck to you! :D
